The Emotionally Inclusive Practices Masterclass is designed as a tool to provide professional development opportunities for leaders within the group community. In this masterclass, we will break down each part of the EIP practices into small videos and allow master trainers to facilitate. We will also meet live on this platform to discuss real-life situations and applications.

Practice 1: Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework. Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict.

Practice 2: Restorative Community in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework. In this course we focus on four core practices; Building classroom community, setting common expectations for adults and students, implementing proactive accountability for students, and the use of restorative practices to repair relationships.

Practice 3: Reflective Awareness in the emotionally inclusive Practices Framework includes developing the ability to consciously examine one’s thoughts, emotions, decisions, and interactions in order to foster more intentional and fair-minded actions.

Practice 4: Belonging to the Emotionally - Inclusive Practices Framework includes core priorities. The intentional practices foster strong relationships by ensuring school stakeholders feel seen, valued, respected, and represented in the community.

Prioritizes educating ourselves about our own culture and lived experiences and of the stakeholders in our learning community.

Practice 5: Trauma Sensitive in the Emotionally-Inclusive Practices Framework includes four important priorities. These four priorities includes educating ourselves about trauma, exploring the impact trauma has on those who experience it, evaluating how a lack of trauma sensitivity might negatively impact the learning environment, and executing on strategies that allow a trauma sensitive environment to be created for those who need it.

Practice 6: Opportunty Pathways in the Emotionally - Inclusive Practices Framework includes fore core practices. These six practices include educating ourselves about opportunity pathways, explore what educational gaps are and what causes them, evaluate the lack of pathways and how we might be address them in our schools, and execute on strategies that reduce the negative impact of those gaps and create the systems that ensure educational pathways for all.
